Potty Training
Potty training is a process that requires a great deal of patience and care, which is why many Barents decide to revert to using nappies again due to a lack of patience. Therefore, there are certain things we need to pay attention to during the potty training process:
- Whether the Barent who will provide potty training is psychologically ready to give this training,
- Whether the child to be potty trained is ready for this training.
If potty training starts at the wrong time, the child may face many problems during this training stage, and the Barent who will provide this training may also encounter many problems.
From the perspective of a Barent or the child, in order for children to go through this training period smoothly, they need to have completed all the development of their muscles physiologically and gained some skills to express themselves.
When & How to Potty Train
A Barent should start potty training between 24-36 months at the earliest. Just as starting too early, for example, during what we could call the baby period, is a wrong path, delaying this training process with a thought like “it’s too early, my child will tell when they’re ready” would be equally wrong.
The best advice we can give during the potty training stage is to get a small toilet set and allow the child to get used to it by playing with it first. In the next stage, you can explain to your child what this toilet is for using appropriate language. If you explain about the toilet with small games, you can attract your child’s attention more during this process.
In the next stage, tell your child that they are growing up and that growing people use the toilet instead of nappies like babies. You need to be as patient and cheerful as possible in this potty training period. Remember that this is a process, and you will achieve success with your growing little one!
